Basic Mods Questions- Unlock, Root, AdAway, Tether, TWRP

When I get phone I'm most interested in doing build prop edit for tether, installing custom recovery TWRP for 6P and AdAway would be nice. Loss of Google Pay not a show stopper. Would like to do OTA factory image updates or modified images until custom ROMs and Kernels mature.
Can someone please post idiot proof specific instructions or guide links. I know some basics but assume others do not.
Thanks

G360F booting in TWRP

Hello. Sorry to bother you with this nonsense, but sometimes minor details become so itchy that one should do something to correct.
I hace a G360F where I installed TWRP. Then, I installed the polish Lollipop to have the newer OS and now, everytime I boot, boots into TWRP. Is not a big deal, because if I ask TWP to reboot to the system, it does so, but would like to recover the normal behaviour.
Thank you in advance for your comments
Regards

Update Ascend Mate 7 MT7-TL10 using TWRP?

I have tried to update the recommended way by loading the dload directory onto the microsd card and the going to 'System > Updater > Menu > Local Update'. When I do that it just reboots and takes me to TWRP. I have tried to do the force update by pressing the 'volume up + power' at the same time. The phone just brings me to TWRP screen. I am not able to do the update. Has anyone else had this problem?

HELP! TWRP bootloop. I have no idea what to do :(

I started messing with this apps 2 sd stuff. And I made some partition on my sd card idk. But my phone started acting up really bad and slow. So I took the sd card out and it was fine. But when I went to reset my phone It bootloops. I now have no idea what to do with out being able to get to recovery. I'm reasick d this is the last thing that needed to happen :(

All I can do is go is go to download mode.. But I have no idea what to do there. Just say downloading it I Remember using it to root.

I'm now phoneless... great..... never do a factory reset through cm12.1

Confused with rooting and TWRP

I am getting mixed messages with how to root. I figured I have to flash TWRP before rooting, but how do I do that with having MDA89E version? The tutorial for flashing new OTA says I have to have TWRP first??? Can someone put me in the right direction??? Thanks a lot.

lost my usb storage during twrp flash

I have no USB storage when in TWRP, hence i can't wipe/flash/restore....here is how i got where I am!
Started with my bone stock OPT 64GB on Oxygen 2.1.1.
in developer options i enabled boot loader unlock
unlocked my boot loader [fastboot oem unlock]
restarted into tarp and installed SuperSU
wiped and factory reset, rebooted and setup and all is well....except...

I decided to factory reset again about 20 minutes later and all wipes failed. So i can not factory reset.
downloaded the factory signed zip to my usbstorage and rebooted into tarp, but there is no usb...no mounts. I though well mount it, but sorry, nothing to mount...
So it appears I have lot my mount points.

I was really hoping that OnePlus had posted a big archive of there OS with an install.bat file, but i can't find it.

Anyone know where its hiding>??
(i will edit this as i get more info together)

You guy and gals all rock.

KF HD 7" - Stuck @ flashing TWRP "teamwin" screen

So I know there's a lot of posts here with a similar situation and I tried to find a solution but I'm at my wit's end.

I recently tried updating my KF using the Cyanogenmod built in nightly update system. When it rebooted after downloading I got stuck in this boot loop for TWRP. It shows the "teamwin" logo, then the screen flashes and it's back to the logo again.

I can connect via adb but unfortunately my device is unauthorized. Obviously, since I'm stuck at this logo I can't authorize it manually on the KF.

I definitely have the latest version of adb as I just downloaded/installed it from the SDK manager seconds ago. I installed all the drivers and added the blurps of code to the Google USB driver and the adb_usb.ini. I tried deleting the adbkey files and restarting adb. I tried different USB cables and different USB ports on my computer. All this to no avail.

Anyone have any ideas besides buying a fastboot cable? That's the only thing left that I can think of to do.

Bootloop and unable to get into TWRP recovery after flashing with fastboot

I installed an older version of TWRP and accidentally wiped all data. Now there is no OS installed and normal booting results in bootloop.
But when I hold power and volume button, I always get fastboot instead of TWRP recovery. I tried flashing twrp-2.8.7.0-cancro.img but I still get booted into fastboot instead of TWRP recovery.
I tried unplugging USB cable, then rebooted normally and then rebooted with volume and power buttons but couldn't get TWRP loaded.
Is there a way I can get back my Mi4i to MIUI, or get TWRP recovery working?

Help! Bricked by OnePlus One by TWRP full format?

Hello ;)

I was trying to install custom rom on my oneplus one and... don't ask me why but instead of format dalvik/system etc i choose full format (in this section you must enter "yes" before proceed).
I didn't realize that at the end I will not be able to enter fastboot menu! (vol up + power)...
Now all I can do is power on phone in "normal" mode but all I can see in oneplus logo and "powered by android"...
What can I do to re-install os?
Pls help.

Thanks!

Restore new Moto X from a TWRP backup of old Moto X after unlocking bootloader.

Hey all,

Just a quick question here. I got a new replacement for my Moto X Pure that seemed to have a charging port get stuck in usb charging only.

Can I unlock the bootloader then flash TWRP and after that restore a TWRP backup I have saved from the old phone to the new one? Will that work and save me all the time of re-rooting and xposed intstalls?

I can't recall ever having an issue like this where I replaced the phone and then restored a backup from the other phone.

Thanks,
Hasherx1

If i flash stock rom with odin, i lose twrp right?

I flashed twrp 2860 onto my jp softbank s6 edge sm925Z. 5.0.2 android.
I want to remove this bloatware trash.

Is there a way for me to backyp my current firmware
And then try another countrys firmware with odin, from the samsung
Firmware page?

Samsung does not release the jp softbank sm925z firmware.

So my question is, . . .
If i flash chinese firmware i will lose TWRP right?
Then i can not return to my backup stock rom. Because no twrp.

So i would need to hope i can reinstall twrp on the chinese rom right?

If i try other firmwares, i will lose wifi and cellular service right?

Is there a way for me to change or insert my wifi cellular partition information
To new roms or firmwares?

cant update due to twrp recovery

hi all,
today morning i just got an update. when i tried to install it goes to twrp recovery. so i am unable to update. i tried flashing the update zip (copied from android/data/..../cm-bacon-7be...90510ef.zip), it fails in twrp recovery.
now some search resulted that i must go to stock recovery to update that.
i figured that i can flash stock recovery using " fastboot flash recovery recovery.img ", but i dont know which recovery to flash. and i am still wondering is it the correct method?(if yes, please take some time to link me to that recovery or just attach recovery of cyanogen).
any suggestions on how to revert to stock recovery or updating manually??

thanks!!!

ps: iam complete newbie, if you find this as duplicate or annoying or anything that prevents to answer above que. please teach me, i am ready!! :p :o
