Remapping game controller without rooting?

So I am able to connect my DS4 to my Note 4. I am able to fix the horrible input lag all without rooting my device.

What I can't seem to do is remap my controller to work properly. I am able to use Remote Play without issue but when I play Android games the key mapping is way off.

Now I know what I want is possible because there is one app that will do exactly what I want called Multilanguage Keymap Redfiner, however it causes massive input lag in game. Totally unusable for my purposes.

Why is it so hard to find a app to change key mapping without root?? Does anyone know of a app that will do what I need without rooting?

Confused with rooting and TWRP

I am getting mixed messages with how to root. I figured I have to flash TWRP before rooting, but how do I do that with having MDA89E version? The tutorial for flashing new OTA says I have to have TWRP first??? Can someone put me in the right direction??? Thanks a lot.

help rooting ls996 zv8

so I have tried to root my phone 5 times now using the methods that are in other forms here. idk what I'm doing wrong the only thing that doesn't seem right is that when I go to download mode it says wait for the drivers to install well it never finishes it just stays at 0%. so ive finished the process and when it says wait for a moment and you will get a "#" to let you know its finished. it happens immediately after I hit enter I get that. so I don't know that's what I'm noticing that's off. someone please help. ive triple checked drivers and redownloaded every file

thanks in advance

Rooting Tegra Note 7 on 5.1 Lollipop

This is a complete noob on rooting and unlocking bootloaders talking right now, so could someone help me or link me to any place with detailed steps on how to do it on 5.1 TN7? I haven't rooted any device at all yet and I wouldn't have even thought of doing it if it wasn't for the random lags and general heating issues/battery drain my tab is suffering after updating to lollipop. This tab is kinda like my device to experiment with games and apps that I normally wouldn't use on my phone so since the warranty already got over a few months back, I thought now would be a good time to step into the vast rooting waters. There are multiple articles on how to root TN7 but most of them are for KK and before. I can't seem to find any recent ones with detailed steps for 5.1.

Rooting Samsung Tablet

problems with rooting LG G4 h815 v10d

Hi everybody,

in the last days i had some problems with my LG G4 with wifi and i read that the only way to fix the problem was to root the phone and delete some dhcp files .
So this afternoon i started the root following this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/o...ot-lg-t3164765
I followed all the points (the only thing i couldn't do is to copy the file system.rooted.H81510c-EU in the root folder in SD card just because i don't have sd external card, so i copied it in the general storage folder.
It all went well til the firmware update. I turned off the phone and restarded in download mode. Now it's about 30 min that it's stuck in the firmware update at 0%... :( what could i do? do i have to wait or there is some problem?? help pls

What's the latest on rooting the Mate7?

Hi everyone, I have a new M7 which I would like to root just to de-bloat and customise a bit. I'm not worried about installing ROMs as I'm quite happy to use KitKat for now. I cannot find a reliable way to root this thing or unlock the bootloader. Every thread I read about it has dead download links etc and the Huawei bootloader code service seems disabled or faulty?

Does anyone have relevant and recent information on resolving this?

Need help rooting i337

Hello,

First of all I'll begin by saying that I am a bit lost with all the terminology of root, ROM etc.

I have the sgh-i337 (version: 4.4.2), I337UCUFNB1 (bulid number: KOT49.HI337UCUFNB1)
I want to upgrade it to Lolipop 5.1

I searched for guides in the forum, but I don't know which one is right for me.

I would be very happy if you guys can give me a simple explanation and a guide to how to do it.

Thank you.

Rooting a G2 with the LP firmware still possible.

I love my G2 so much because of the current ROM i am using and for what I use my phone for, I really don't need anything better. The problem is I fool with it so much I am concerned about it wearing out or breaking so I want to buy a backup G2 in case something happens. I imagine a new or used one would problably come with the latest firmware (5.01 or 5.1.1) and I am concerned about being able to root it. It's been so long since I rooted my phone (I think I used ioroot originally) and I haven't kept up with newer root methods so I don't know if they work with the latest firmware or has Verizon closed that door.

Is there still a way to root a G2 VS980 if it comes preinstalled with the latest lollipop updates from Verizon?

I searched through the forums but can't seem to find a definitive answer. Thanks for any advice...

[Summary] Rooting the Z5

Hi there,

I think we should make a simple thread to sum up everything we know about root, since the main talking thread is long, here are the main informations:

Xperia Z5:
- No locked bootloader root yet
- No working custom kernel yet
- Unstable TWRP compiled by AndroPlus here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...9&postcount=26
- No unlocked BL root yet

Xperia Z5 Compact:
- No locked bootloader root yet
- Zombie Kernel testing release here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-c...ombie-t3224735
- Unlock bootloader root available (http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-c...ed-bl-t3230524)
- Prerooted firmware available for unlocked BL: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-c...click-t3231520
- Xposed doesn't work with prerooted firmware

Currently we need to:
- Compile Zombie Kernel for Z5
- Improve TWRP support
- Create prerooted-firmware
- Maybe dump the original firmware ?
- Most obviously and most hardly, find exploit for Locked BL root

Ok I'm not an Xperia pro, just got my first one few days ago, but still a android and linux geek, so if there is mistakes in my post, or update I haven't seen, notify me :)

A New Person to the world of Rooting

I ask for some help or rather come to you guys for help. I am currently using a Samsung Galaxy S4 (As you could tell), I believe, the S4 I have is unlocked, meaning that it is Rooted and do have questions for you veterans, the guys that know how to do it right. So my first question is, what ROM do I use and how do I install one? Do you have one that you prefer, works best and makes the S4 a smooth, great experience? I would like to have a ROM, that gives me the Lollipop experience, if that helps out to what ROM I'm looking for. Secondly, is it a necessity for me to have a SD Card? I don't currently own one and though I am new to Rooting, I have tried this before and failed, almost getting my S4 bricked because I didn't know what I was doing, which is why I have come to you guys :)

Much help is appreciated.

Just got this phone, and have a few questions about rooting.

Hey guys, ive just bought one of these and its on 4.4.2. Its not giving me a notification for the lollipop OTA, but the HTC sync software says there is one. Now my question is, Should I root and unlock bootloader before doing the update or after? Which one would be a less time consuming process? Also, are there any methods of unlocking the bootloader without using the sunshine app? I guess ill pay if i have no choice, but ill have to wait till next month before i have the money to do so and im itching to remove this godawful verzion bloat. One last thing, i bought the phone from a reseller in India, and am using it on a GSM network currently, but will use it with a CDMA one in future (its working now, tested on 2 CDMA networks). I just want to make sure that updating will not stop it from working with Indian CDMA.

rooting lg l fino easliy

Well today i am posting the second member of dual family Bello and Fino, Fino since launched last year in august has been a low range device launched for targeted audience it had 480 * 800 pixels display stuffed in a small 4.5 inches screen but powered with the best as it seems gorilla glass 3rd gen. What feels surprising is that this small device has comparatively good heart inside it as it comes with quad core 1.2 GHz Adreno 302 and Cortex A7 which has chipset of Qualcomm MSM 8212 Snapdragon 200. The memory part on the device is as expected 1 GB ram supported by the 4 GB of storage build inside the device which is pretty normal given the other specs of this device. What’s not so good is that the company has given 8 MP of camera at the back but only VGA in the front which is out dated nowadays.

So yes exactly people who bought this device keeping in mind the LG love well you are at the right place, using this easy to root method you can actually push the performance on this device to make it perform around the mid-range devices. Well we can’t increase the front camera but we can give a hand to the heart of your device.

PRE ROOT REQUIREMENTS:

So as we always say before beginning the process of any kind make sure that the back up of all your device’s data is already taken and stored in some place safe.
After above precaution go and charge up your device with 75% and above so that the device can sustain the process of rooting properly.
Now once done with this above universal precautions, make sure that your device’s USB debugging option is switched on so to do that go to the settings page and switch it on from developer’s option.
To let the software and computer connect properly with your device you will be needing the drivers of your device installed on your computer so go the below given link and install them.
Universal model drivers, Verizon mobile drivers

STEPS : How to root LG L Fino

Step 1 : First of all we need to download the software which will be rooting our device so go to this given link and extract the purple drake software on your desktop.

Step 2 : Once extracted, connect your device to the computer using the cable which came with the box when you purchased the device and open the folder in which you will be needed to click on the application as per your OS so click on windows file or the OSX file.

Step 3 : When you click on that file, a command prompt will pop up which will ask you to hit enter and when you have hit enter and if all the above things have been done properly then the software will start the rooting process on your device which will be taking about 5 minutes to get completed.

Step 4 : Make sure to keep looking at the computer screen and your device because there may or may not come some pop up permission which you will be needed to allow.

Step 5 : Once completed you will need an app called SuperSU which will help you control all the root authentication on your device, so to get it you can visit play store and download or you can download it from this given link.

That’s it folks your L Fino is now rooted and ready to get its performance enhanced.
