I got a phone from a family member that was a at&t note 2, it was freezing while charging and wasn't turning on. So I downloaded odin and OS for it knowing that that would probably fix it(but i could still go into recovery and the mode to use odin[drawing a blank on the name]), so I unpacked the zip file with the OS, downloaded the drivers, but with the new odin update they put two letter words and i didn;t know witch was witch until it was too late, i picked bootloader instead of PDA). and it failed installing like it would because i picked the wrong one. Now the phone won't even charge, or connect to the laptop or turn on. Is there anything i can do or is the phone SOL?

How does security and encryption defeat someone just booting into recovery?
Regardless of device encryption and fingerprint scanners and the like, couldn't someone just get your phone, boot into recovery, and factory reset it? Wouldn't that undo any security you had on device?
Wlan off - still uses battery?
Hi,
some time ago I recognized in the detailed battery stats (settings - energy option - battery usage - detailed history) that the orange bar of the WLAN is constantly shown, what would mean Wlan is on all the time - what its not.
now I had some time for testing:
put phone for some minutes in fly mode
than turned fly mode off (mobile data on, Wlan off) waited a while
for that time in the stats, as expected, no activity for Wlan
than turned on Wlan for a short time and turned it off again. waited again for a while
in the stats there is Wlan shown as active/using battery from the point of turning it on and off again till now .. :silly:
Now is the question: is it just an error in the battery stats or is it really still active in the background ..
one way to find out would be, to check the battery life (with similar usage of the phone) with all 4 possible settings, each time a circle off full charge to empty:
1. WLAN off all the time
2. WLAN on all the time
3. WLAN on and off half the time
4. WLAN on and off half the time (putting phone shortly in fly mode after turning WLAN off)
that would be quite time-consuming and still not very accurate?!
battery stat apps seem to need root, so I cant use them

Bootloop and unable to get into TWRP recovery after flashing with fastboot
I installed an older version of TWRP and accidentally wiped all data. Now there is no OS installed and normal booting results in bootloop.
But when I hold power and volume button, I always get fastboot instead of TWRP recovery. I tried flashing twrp-2.8.7.0-cancro.img but I still get booted into fastboot instead of TWRP recovery.
I tried unplugging USB cable, then rebooted normally and then rebooted with volume and power buttons but couldn't get TWRP loaded.
Is there a way I can get back my Mi4i to MIUI, or get TWRP recovery working?

Cannot boot gt-i8552 into download mode
Hello all,
I want to root my Samsung Win duos gt-I8552. I've downloaded all the necessary files, but when I try to boot into download mode, I get the Factory mode.
The recovery mode works instead.
I tried with adb command, but the phone reboots in normal mode. I've tried almost all the tricks, but in vain.
Please, help me.
Thanks beforehand

Cannot access fastboot phone reboots into recovery
As the title says my phone will just reboot into twrp recovery and give me a black screen. Is there anyway i can make it boot normally or just boot into fastboot so that i can flash stock recovery? phone was working correctly and i had this problem when i tried to make a factory reset.
Htc 820 rebooting ONLY into recovery and black screen
Hello i tried to flash twrp recovery on my htc 820u but i think it didn't install. Phone was still working correctly until i tried to do a factory reset. Now it will just boot into recovery every time and i have only a black screen. the phone vibrates when i touch the screen but i cannot switch it off. when i reboot it just goes back to recovery.
Can anyone suggest something please? Is there a way to prevent the phone from booting into recovery?
PS: I'm on lollipop 5.0

keeps booting into TWRP
Ok so everything was fine for a while until the next morning. Now it boots into TWRP no matter what. i assume it was a automatic OTA update to lollipop(i am on kitkat still). I tried installing a debloated lollipop rom but that didn't work and now i have downloaded a completely stock kitkat rom. I tried flashing it with the LGFlashTool but i kept getting "cannot boot into download mode" so after some searching i found out that you have to use a OEM cable and i was using a cheapo one so i went to att today and got one but i keep getting the same error.
i have done all the steps correctly for the LGFlashTool, i triple checked. installed drivers and everything. Any help is appreciated, thank you

It seems that it got the output power(cause it can charge others phones) but does it have the drivers?
Any toughts on this?

hi all,
i had cm-12.1-20151004-UNOFFICIAL-i9105p installed and working, but due to some apps crashing, i decided to switch back to cm-12.1-20150912-UNOFFICIAL-i9105p.
i erased the cache and installed the above mention ROM, but now my phone stuck on the bootup animation and I can't even get to the Recovery to undo the installation.
any help?
thanks, eli
