Unlocked, rooted EVO 4G LTE. Now I just need a ROM & how to do it?

I've Unlocked, and Rooted my EVO 4G LTE.
It has TWRP Recovery and installed SuperSU.

Now I need to find the right, stable, smooth, ROM to flash. I would be happy with basic Android. I don't understand what features I'd want from a custom ROM.

I'm planning to use this as a wifi Internet, email, camera device without cellular service.

I assume that by getting rid of HTC Sense and all the extra bloat apps that Sprint and HTC had on there that I can keep this device running as a smooth Android tool.

I'd be happy with the latest Android version that will run well on it. (I've had the experience of Lollipop on an old Nexus 7 2012 WiFi and it doesn't work well. Very lagggy. So I flashed that one all the way back to JellyBean to get it run smoothly.) So for this EVO 4G LTE, I don't know if it will handle a more recent Android or not. I'm willing to try custom ROMs if they are stable and complete (the main features work well, etc.)

I am inexperienced in rooting / flashing. I used the Universal Toolkit after unlocking to flash TWRP and root with SuperSU. That worked.

So I need help in finding the right ROM and the how-to of installing it. Thanks.

Just got an M9 today and need some tips...

Hello everyone, I I just got an M9 at my local Telus store and I would like to be able to do everything with it like I am able to do with my M7, so I know I will need to use sunshine to get S-OFF and I would also like to be able to change everything from the rom to the kernel to the OS, everything, so I was just wondering if someone could let me know the best order to go about doing things, meaning should I do sunshine first then worry about flashing a recovery and all that, or should I do the recovery first so that I can backup the phones current state? The phone currently says this in the hboot screen:

*** LOCKED ***
LK-1.0.0.0000
OS-1.32.661.6

and this is what it says on the phones Setting-About-Software screen:

Android version
5.0.2
HTC Sense version
7.0

Now like I mentioned before, it would probably be best if I can make a backup of the phones current state just in case there are any issues, so to do that I know I need a recovery, but do I need to do the HTC Dev unlocker before I can do so? or do I have to flash a recovery first before everything else?

So if anyone could please take a minute to help me out and get me pointed in the right direction then it would be greatly appreciated... thank you very much...

Just your Out-of-the-Blue Random brick!

I've had a bricked phone before but nothing like this.
GPE edition w/CM nightly installed for 5 days with full wipe.
Running beautifully. Was listening to music on Amp. Music stopped.
Couldnt turn phone on.
Couldn't go to revovery (Twrp) via buttons. Couldn't get to fastboot on computer. No lights no responses.. nothing.
B R I C K.
All I can think of is malware via Chrome dev? All Chrome apps had been acting up. Had to wipe data and download data to get them working again. Another behaviour is at times when switching apps the phone would switch very briefly to the sony bootup icon then go to the app. Wierd.
Sincerely wierded out by it and bummed.

How does security and encryption defeat someone just booting into recovery?

Regardless of device encryption and fingerprint scanners and the like, couldn't someone just get your phone, boot into recovery, and factory reset it? Wouldn't that undo any security you had on device?

Phone just hangs up?

I dunno if it's AT&T or my phone. I sometimes have to redial a number 3 or 4 times before it'll go through. It often just hangs up before trying to dial. Anyone else experiencing this? It's been doing it for months really but lately it seems to be a dozen times a day. In different markets to (I travel from Pittsburgh to Columbus or Cleveland nearly every day).

The HTC One A9 is a huge gamble that might just pay off

If you've ever been to an electronics market in certain parts of Asia, you'll be familiar with iPhone knockoffs running Android. Within weeks of a new Apple device, you can get a gray market iPhone lookalike running Android Jelly Bean or something, for a third of the cost of the real thing. But we never thought we'd see a 'real' manufacturer take this approach. Until now
If I were living under a rock, and came across the One A9 on holiday, I would absolutely believe it was a gray market ripoff. I can just imagine coming home to tell my friends, “Hey, check out the fake HTC iPhone I bought,” only to be informed HTC itself actually put it out.

We can lay some blame for this odd decision on the exodus of HTC designers – Scott Croyle in 2014, and Jonah Becker in 2015 – and presume the design department at HTC is full of empty desks following their departure. Or we could put it down to a last-ditch effort to get someone, anyone, to buy an HTC device.

But what if this is actually the best decision HTC has made in a long time?

Is it just me - or does the Stock Camera app Suck?

The touch to take a photo is frustrating as hell when i'm used to tap-to-focus on targets rather than it immediately take a pic.

I've tried fiddling around but still no joy. Anyone know of a secret-squirrel setting someplace to turn that crap off?

just root m 6.0 stock

hey people i just shifted to Nexus 6. i m on stock 6.0 i need to root it without ul bl.
any idea how i need some rooted apps to work (LED,TiB)

Just got this phone, and have a few questions about rooting.

Hey guys, ive just bought one of these and its on 4.4.2. Its not giving me a notification for the lollipop OTA, but the HTC sync software says there is one. Now my question is, Should I root and unlock bootloader before doing the update or after? Which one would be a less time consuming process? Also, are there any methods of unlocking the bootloader without using the sunshine app? I guess ill pay if i have no choice, but ill have to wait till next month before i have the money to do so and im itching to remove this godawful verzion bloat. One last thing, i bought the phone from a reseller in India, and am using it on a GSM network currently, but will use it with a CDMA one in future (its working now, tested on 2 CDMA networks). I just want to make sure that updating will not stop it from working with Indian CDMA.

Google Project Fi 6.0 automatic system update just dropped

Just got my automatic Google Project Fi 6.0 update. Currently downloading. Will update you guys once finished.

Excited.

Take just 1min out of you time and help me if possible :)

So I know these questions have been probably asked and answered a million times already, but honestly, I haven't been able to find answers exactly for my questions.
I will try to keep this as sort as possible, all I ask is to either point me somewhere or answer with a simple Yes/No. Of course longer responses are welcome as well :p
My info:
*SM-N910F *trlte *Firmware CSC code- TTR *Bootloader/PDA/Baseband- N910FXXU1COH4 *5.1.1 *LMY47X.N910FXXU1COH4 *If more is needed just tell me.
So here we go:
1)From what I understand, for installing a custom ROM, TWRP is the first thing I should install. Correct?
2)Which is the latest Odin version (or which version should I use) to install TWRP?
3)Is it possible to install any STOCK rom from SAMmobile or only the ones specific for my country?
4)After installing TWRP and making a backup, which application should I use to root my device and which one to make an EFS backup?
Thats all, thanks a lot in advance everyone :)

Just rooted, froze apps, and now stuck on Verizon screen

I just rooted last night and everything was good... This morning all I did was freeze some of the stock Verizon apps, and the system crashed. When it reboots now, it's stuck at the Verizon screen. I can access Recovery, and have tried "fastboot erase cache" but that hasn't fixed it. Any suggestions? Please help!

My LG G2 just died

I had my G2 on charge overnight ( proper LG Charger). I had no pending update and had no problems with the phone. In the morning the phone was just dead..will not power on..no lights .. no logo.

I have researched all kind of web articles and tried hard resets (power and up/down botton pressed for 30 secs or longer) but nothing worked. I have recently opened up the phone and disconnected /reconnected the battery and reseated the connectors. The only thing I can confirm is happening now is that when the phone is on the charger with the back off I can feel the large capacitor is heating up. That is the only sign of life.

Has anybody an idea what could be wrong?

I admit I gave up with the phone and bought another but I would at least like to access the photos ( Yes I did'nt back them up! :o)

Thanks in advance.

Just ordered one and getting ready

Hi Guys. I took advantage of an ultra good deal and my Nexus player will be here friday. You've read threads like this many times before but I'm not being lazy (just strapped for time with work and my toddler.) So, I'd love to devote more time to playing with my new toy rather than googling everything there is. I have a handle on basics but if there's anything that the current guides don't cover (tips, tricks etc) please let me know.
Also, I love the idea of running CM 12.1. It was supposed to happen on fire tv but never did. However, I'm not crazy about using my bt keyboard for the set top box. I want to use the stock remote. BTW-does mouse toggle app work on this? Is it possible to use leanback launcher on CM 12.1 so we can have remote functionality and the cool CM features?
Really looking forward to this. Anything you think would be useful to get me going like if there is a thread or web page like "Getting started with Nexus player" please let me know. Thanks!

Just got an s5

Best method for rooting please?
I am on 4.4.4
