Gear Manager finally doesn't require Touchwiz!!!

Hi all,

Samsung have finally released a version of Gear Manager that doesn't require Touchwiz to be installed.

Version is 2.2.15100741N is out and even shows up on the Google Play Store. Installs fine on a Nexus 6 with 6.0 and a Oneplus One running 5.1.1

At the moment it only works with the Gear S2, but i wonder if Samsung will release a version compatible with our watch??

If not, do you think this version could be modified to work with our old watch???

Charging gear fit without charging cradle

Hi all I recently lost my charging cradle and am waiting for a replacement but my question is, does anyone know which pins are the positive and negative pins on the fit to charge it.

[1.127.0827] New version of Gear Fit Manager!

I had intalled version 1.117 from Galaxy Apps repository and it worked perfectly on my GT-I9000 with CM11 and build.prop modified with S4 data. But now a notification shows up telling I need to update to 1.127, but this new version doesn't work, probably due to Touchwiz dependencies (an error related to CSCFeatures class is shown in logcat). My Gear Fit firmware version is R350XXU0BOA2

Can anyone patch this last version (1.127.0827) for non samsung mobiles (touchwiz free)?

You can download it from official Samsung repository:

Thanks! :)

Initiating sms on gear

I have a gear s tmobile. Up until this past week I've been able to use the gear to initiate texts and all of the sudden this function has stopped. When I go into messages, compose and try to send a message I get this phone icon with a half circle in front of it as opposed to the arrow like it's loading or sending but it doesnt move or change and the texts don't send. When i turn off bluetooth and try to use mobile network or wifi i get the red square icon with the exclamation point. I cannot use s voice to initiate texts either though other s voice functions - ie call bill - works fine.
I can reply to texts as they come in all day. I suddenly just cannot start them on my gear. I have tweaked every option i could think of, rebooted, reset the watch, tried to switch from primary textra to primary Samsung messages, removed the sim card and so far nothing. Something wrong with my sim card or what?

Upgraded from Gear 2 Neo and I don't Get It

I recently bought the Gear S2 after using my Gear 2 Neo daily for almost a year.

I used my Neo for:
- Occasionally taking calls via Bluetooth when my hands were otherwise occupied (e.g. carrying stuff).
- Occasionally controlling the TV via IR blaster
- Tracking my sleep habits, how much I was getting and how much tossing/turning I did that night
- Timekeeping
- Notifications

For reasons I can't really fathom, the Gear S2 only does the latter 2. I can't really understand why Samsung would remove those features from their flagship smartwatch line. What's more, I REALLY can't understand why this watch is getting ABSOLUTELY RAVE reviews across the board. It's almost like people didn't know the Gear 2 Neo even existed.

I guess it has something to do with the fact that sleep tracking, IR device control, and accepting phone calls via bluetooth are things MOST watches are incapable of for various reasons, so it's not much of a drawback from a reviewer's standpoint when those features are removed. As someone coming from the Neo to the S2, I have a hard time getting past the fact that I have an older, cheaper device that is far more capable sitting in a drawer unused. :/

Don't get me wrong, though. What the S2 can do it does do very well. The screen is gorgeous. The rotating bezel is brilliant. This version of Tizen is lightning fast and very intuitive. The "always on" feature is great, and notifications are handled much better. But I can't really escape the feeling that, while the Neo was a smartwatch, the S2 is just a 0 watch that can send text messages and receive email.

Am I missing something here?

Oh, and for some reason I can't get mine to vibrate when text messages are received. Calls only.:rolleyes:

Gear S Apps Stuck on Installing

I have a Gear S SM-R750A and when I try to install apps from the Gear Manager App Store they stick on Installing. I can use the Galaxy App Store to download normal apps to my Note 4 without issues just not to the Gear S. I am currently running Software Version R750AUCU1AOB1 and running 5.1.1 on the Note 4. Please let me know if anyone has found a fix to this issue. I have tried resetting my Gear S and reinstalling the Gear Manager as well.

Notification content missing on Gear Fit?

Hi All,
Wondering if anyone has had a similar issue, or maybe someone has a solution to my problem?

When I receive a notification on Gear Fit (WhatsApp, EvolveSMS, etc) I cannot see the content of the notification. It displays a placeholder message "For details, view this notification on yoru mobile device". With WhatsApp that's all I get. with EvolveSMS I get the message content in header and the the placeholder message udnerneath.

Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920F
Android 5.1.1 G920FXXU3COI9 (XtreStoLite Deo Mod v2.4)
Gear Fit Manager v. 1.127.0827
Gear Fit software v. R350XXU0BOA2

This started only a few days ago (somewhere between 15th and 19th Oct). I think Gear Fit Manager updated in those days.

Any suggestuions, welcome!
Thanks

Gear S and custom stock ROM

Dear wonderful people of XDA and experts of gear S devs, I have a problem connecting my note 4 to my gear S and it is mainly due to me using a custom stock rom(nameless ROM). It is very much debloated of most Samsung stuff.

Can anyone please enlighten me what is required for a Samsung phone to be paired with gear S? I want to find out what is lacking so that I may install it. I have also consulted the Rom dev for advice as well.

Note 5 port, gear 2 not syncing notifications

Hi guys,
So thanks to the note 5 port (with shinto kernel), my note 3 feels like a new device. Literally everything works, except gear 2 (is not syncing notifications). Did anyone figured out a workaround? Perhaps someone can post titanium backup of gear manager from latest t mobile stock lolipop? Thanks

Are there any grocery list/notes app available on the Gear S2 Classic?

I'm thinking similar to how Keep works on Android Wear where you can write a grocery list on your phone and then see and use it on your watch.

Gear S2 Korea sales numbers...

Supposedly in Korea they are selling about 2,000 per day half being the BT Sport and Classic and the other half the 3G models. The Classic model has sold out of its initial inventory. The S2 is selling twice as fast as the original S1 model. I think if they can get more apps, it should easily be the best selling Gear watch thus far. I wish I could find the Classic somewhere, Samsung should have made a lot more.

Anyone Else Disappointed with Gear Image Quality?

Having spent way too many hours trying to perfect my own DIY HMD, I thought I'd found the solution: I could just buy a Note 4, buy a Gear, and be done with it ( at least until the Rift is released).

Got my Gear today, and ... I can't get over how poor the image quality is. It's not the Note 4 screen, which is fine, it's the lenses on the Gear. When I look at a screen capture on my HMD (using the Note 4 as a screen), and then look at it on the Gear, the same image seems drastically different: zoomed in, with pixels the size of baseballs drowning out all sense of immersion. I tried a 1080p video on the Oculus Theater ... it was so pixelated it reminded me of watching videos on my old psp ...

In every other respect the Gear beats my DIY HMD hands down, but in this one--I would argue very important area--it absolutely does not.

Am I the only one who had this experience?
