ChromeCast 2015 & UnBlock-US Problems

Hi Folks,

I'm running into an annoying problem with my new ChromeCast 2015. I've got an Asus AC68U router which I created static routes for Google's DNS (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4) that direct to unused IP addresses on my local network and set the routers DNS to point to UnBlock-US DNS (208.122.23.23 / 208.122.23.22). However, I seem to be getting a lot of "video is not available in your region" and "video is unable to play" errors from Netflix's.

Now I also have an old ChromeCast (dongle style) which I rooted (Team-Eureka's rom) in order to be able to set the DNS servers on it directly to UnBlock-US and it works flawlessly (abeit slower than the ChromeCast 2015 version). A video that generates an error (above) on the ChromeCast 2015, will play properly on the older ChromeCast.

I've changed the DNS entries to Google's DNS on my older ChromeCast to test the static routing is working (which it seems to). So the question is why is the New ChromeCast being such a pain in the butt, where as the older one works flawlessly? Am I missing something in my static routing?

Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions

October 24 2015 My HTC as of today

Hello everybody, I am new to XDA. With the HTC 626s from MetroPCS, all the threads that I am read have not shown me any updated information for at least a month from now as far as a known root for this phone. There are so many apps that I want to be able to install on my phone and I cannot because I cannot gain root. I believe I am in the correct place because I need to know whether the program Sunshine has been used before on this phone successfully or not. Aside from that, nobody has really spoken about this phone lately which puts me too much in the doubt. Other websites claim to know of a correct way through this phone and its all is bogus information. Therefore I am reaching out to all of you in the community to please help me and direct me to a successful root method, successful because has been done before so it is known. Thank you all and have a good weekend.

My one serious critique of the Moto x Pure 2015

The button placement kind of sucks. instead of a toggle for volume, there are two small buttons places really closely together, and then the power/screen off button directly above that.
trying to take a screenshot is a little difficult with this setup., and often trying to turn up volume ****s off screen.
Anyone have button positioning issues on this model?

Moto G 2015 2GB Varient Display Problem

Hello Guys,

I recently bought a moto g 2015 2GB Varient. When i Look the device as straight i can see everything clearly. When i bring the phone close and slightly Turn I can see a texturing on my phone. I Can see these texturing when the Display is on. THese textures are similar just like back of moto G 2015. Is this normal or just the problem faced by me.

Moto G 2015 CDMA variants unlocking bootloader and/or root

Hello, rather than continuing to post in other threads and going OT there, I though I would start a new thread here. I am getting my Moto G 2015 CMDA through Virgin Mobile in the mail soon. I am really hoping there is some way to achieve unlocked bootloader and root. Has anyone with the Sprint, US Cellular or Virgin Mobile CDMA variants been able to achieve either?

Alberto97 posted in the osprey CM Rom thread (post 361) that he thought it seems possible.

Anyone with information please post for me and other users, we would greatly appreciate it.

Best Video/Movie Player For Moto G 2015

Hey guys, have you seen that the default video player of moto g 2015 doesn't have basic controls and it doesn't support subtitles also. It just only plays videos.

I have another video player for moto g which is Sony Movies app extracted from a Xperia smartphone as it is without modding. You can install it on your moto g3 and play all kinds of videos with all basic video player controls. You don't have to root your moto g 2015.

This is a light weight app which also supports .srt subtitles files. It does not need any third party codecs, no need to update it. And it also plays Full HD 1080p videos without lags.

You can download the Sony Movies app from the link below.

Hope you enjoy it.

Is there any rooting methods in 2015 so you dont have to downgrade firmware to root ?

Seems a difficult phone to root and i can only find rooting methods in 2014, I wondered if there was any easier ways, this has got to be on one of the hardest phones to root.

Thanks in advance

Andy.
