Nexus 7 magnetic sensor

Does anyone know a solution to the Nexus switch off the magnetic sensor?

I have in the car a magnetic holder or 2 to hold the tablet, but the problem is that is a holder exactly where the is magnetic sensor of Nexus and it therefore puts in sleep mode and can no longer be unlock long as the magnet is there ....

Heart Rate Sensor

Hello there, i am new to this forum. I bought my Samsung galaxy s6 from a friend who had it rooted. the phone working perfectly fine till i install S health to check out the heart rate sensor. i found out that that stress level monitor or heart rate sensor is not available on the phone. i have installed other heart rate monitor apps as well but all it does it flashes the flash light and is not that accurate. so i was wondering if any one of you could assist me on this.

disclaimer: I wanted a very thin case. I don't like huge cases. I understand that there is limited drop protection. I am only interested in having a minimal lip so that the camera or screen do not scratch when I set the device down.

I started with the spigen case and screen protector. Screen protector covered the proximity sensor making the screen turn black during calls regardless of proximity. The case fit well but felt cheap. Design was too bulky despite being marketed as a slim case. Not necessarily becuase it was not thin, but all the corners were too squared off.

So here is the new setup. The case feels good, I wish there was a matted and smoked version, but this will do. The plastic does feel a bit slick. It definitely feels more secure in my hands naked as compared to the case.

The screen protector works perfectly. It has an oleophobic coating that works pretty well too. There is a proximity cutout so the screen does not cut off during calls. The fit is great, goes out all the way to the edges, and the cutouts are very precise. The screen protector comes in a hard cardboard box for shipping, included is a wet/dry wipe and a dust absorber film that worked well.

Where is the proximity sensor on the Nexus 6p?

Does anyone know where the proximity sensor on the Nexus 6p is located? I just received a tempered glass screen protector and just wanted to make sure it is not blocking it and cause problems.

Fingerprint Sensor Stops Working

I've been using the fingerprint sensor on the 5X to unlock the device since I received it on the 21st. Today, my phone suddenly stopped recognizing my fingerprint. I went through the following steps:

1. Restarted the device.


2. Deleted my fingerprint and tried readding it, but it wouldn't recognize it there either.


3. I tried adding all my other fingers with no luck.


4. Had my girlfriend try her fingerprint (which she added yesterday).


5. Restarted the device again.

I'm hesitant to reformat as I'm happy with my device setup and I'm hoping there's a less destructive fix. Am I the only one with this issue? Any suggestions?

It's also worth noting I've made sure the OS is as up-to-date as possible.

Retrofitting fingerprint sensor?

What is the possibility of doing so? No with 6.0 supporting it, and the moto x dimple supposed to have been one with connections there, does anyone know if and what would be necessary?

Proximity sensor issue

The bottom two proximity sensors aren't working correctly on mine, like one out of every ten times I'll get it to wake the screen but it's random and the motions I have to make are a bit aggressive to get it to do anything. When I wave over the top sensor it works fine, the bottom two just seem to not do anything. Any help?

Light Sensor values on Non-Sony ROM

Hi,
I noticed that on non sony-based firmwares (actually i'm on Euphoria OS, tried also CM) the light sensor acts weird.
Looks like that enables the screen to get very (in this case, Ultra) bright and this causes me some problems.

I'm not sure, but a sony-based rom "tames" the light sensor in order to non make the brighness go wild (ultra dim, or ultra bright) even with the auto-brightness set to near zero value.

As a workaround, i'm using "Velis Auto Brightness" with a custom over-conservative profile.

Is this a AOSP/CM only issues? can be ROM be tuned for better light handling (eg: by halving the output value of teh sensor) or is the sensor just too sensitive?

S6 Camera Sensor exchange / repair Before Sony, now Samsung ?

I got just my Sony Sensor exchanged to Samsung Sensor due to Camera Failure. The Sony snesor just stopped Focusing . To Focus I had to shake the camera or to pooint upwards, then it started to focus again, when pointing downwards.

Samsung does not want to exchange my camera to a sony camera, because they say because of warranty I have to accept it. But in my opinion and i nthe opinion of many people here the camera is much worse. Now I was wondering, why they can't just give me back, what I have bought and paid for. While this I still try to figure out at my local store, I am surprised to some other things.
I only read of people, that they got thei sony camera exchanged to samsung/isocell. Not the other way.
I also realized, that there have been some sold offs of the samsung galaxy s6, like mine with the sony sensor.
I s it possible, that Samsung already knew, that the sony sensors have some kind of failure and they wanted to get rid of the sony module phones. And if the people realize failure, they just exchange?

Because of that I want to know, how many people with camera problems, who exchange then, have which sensor here.
