Nexus player - can external HDD connected via OTG be shared over Network (Wi-Fi)?

Ok, here is the problem I need to solve:
I have Nexus Player and external SSD I want to use as a storage.
I know that I can connect it to Nexus Player directly and play media from it by using ES file manager and Kodi.
I was able to share a folder on my laptop and NP has access and can play media from that with no issue.

The problem is that I have not found anything online on whether it is possible to connect an external storage to NP and then share it. In my particular case, I want to have the ability to upload files from my PC directly to that storage and then play it from NP.

All previous similar topics seem to focus on connecting that external drive directly to network (NAS), but I do not have that option.

Any help appreciated.

when I navigate to ext. SD via file manager and force an mp3 to load in playerpro, then it plays that one file. but that navigation is extremely inconvenient. Unfortunately all the music players do not see the external SD card. Is there another solution?
according to developer.android.com/about/versions/android-4.4.html there should be no problem when using the "new" API.
so how come no music player does that?

Aukey Portable(ish) 10,000mAh External battery charger

I got this to unit to test and in exchange to share my personal experience with the external charger. When I was given the opportunity to review an external charger, I requested one that could perform quick charging on my wife's M8 and my Nexus6. And it happened that Aukey was looking on some people to review their newly released external chargers. I initially thought, "great! a new portable charger that's 10,000mAh! With certified Qualcomm quick charge 2.0 to boot!

When I received my unit, I immediately thought how thin it was but when I opened up the packaging, I was pretty excited for this for some reason. Maybe because this is the first charger I had that can be used without being plugged in to use Quick Charge? Possibly. In looking at the battery itself, it's a bit lighter than my other 4 year old 10,000 mAh portable battery, However, this Aukey has Quick Charge 2.0 AND a flashlight. LOL Well I never really understood the reasoning of adding flashlights to external/portable batteries. It's great to have during a power outtage, but that's it really. There is not other usages I can personally think of to use it in a everyday carry bag. Don't get me wrong, the matte finish all around warrants the relatively cheap price for a 10k battery, but my one gripe is that the battery is pretty long. It doesn't really easily fit into a pocket. You have to put this in a bag, no question. For me, I had to store it in my glove compartment until I needed to use it.

When initially charging it up, it uses a micro USB cord. A great thing because my other older 10k battery uses a proprietary cord/adapter combo to charge the 4 year old battery pack. Also I realized the "Aukey" label lights up and is colorized and based on the color represents the current battery level of the battery. I need to mention when not fully charged, the "Aukey" logo that is lit up, "breathes" while it's charging, making the sense that it's alive and resting or sleeping lol.

Would I recommend this portable(ish) battery pack with Qualcomm Quickcharge 2.0? YES for me. For 30 bux on Amazon, it's not bad, but if you are looking to stuff it in your pocket, look elsewhere. This is a laptop bag battery where you can charge up your tablets and phone at the same time and not worry about depleting the battery.

Sooooo, RAVPower just released a device to Amazon US and Amazon UK. Annoyingly, I still can't post links here, but search for the phrase "The first ever external battery charger with USB-C/Type-C" and you'll find it (perhaps someone could add links below?)

It's a bit of a monster both in terms of weight and capacity, so I don't see it being a daily driver, but I've asked whether they have anything smaller on the way. I hope to hear back from them soon and I'll update below.

It's pricey too, at / £40. So, there's that.

But, hey - an external battery with 5V/3A USB Type-C in and out. We're finally getting there, folks! :highfive:

Record Audio during Video Recording Using External Microphone

Hi,

I own Xperia Z2 Phone and i am looking for someone who can assist or suggest me a method to record clear Audio during Video Recording from my phone using an external microphone. I want to record some class room lectures and I do not have a camcorder.

I checked that if I record Audio from the ear phone mic The audio recording is superfine but unfortunately the cable length is very small.

I would appreciate if someone can assist.
