Zenfone 5: Is it good to use with a 3rd party battery saving app?

I'm finding the battery life unsatisfactory. If I were to install a 3rd party battery saving app would it conflict with the Asus Android OS?

If not, are there any suggestions as to which is the best one to use?

How to get the adhesive tape to stick good after screen replacement?

I use original adhesive tape to connect the screen and backside. But everytime I fix a phone it does not stick good enough. I use clamps for 12 hours to get good pressure and also use a heatgun to heat it up before I put the clamps on. Still I have many customers complaining about the sceeen or backside coming off. So I end up using glue. Any suggestions on how to get the adhesive tape to stick good?

Good standby battery, poor screen time

HI there. My battery life on my SM-N900 is very frustrating. Previously, I used a iPhone 5s and people told me that android was much better and has excellent battery life. Right now, I don't really like android because my iPhone battery lasted 5 hours of SOT. I purchased a used note 3 n900 which is apparently less than 2 years old (original owner purchased in late 2013 or early 2014). I currently use the Dr. Ketan L24 rom. Both this rom and the stock 5.0 TW rom have bad battery life. When I turn the screen off, the battery life is very very fine and sometimes even goes up a little by itself. The minute I turn the screen on, my battery is drain. I only get 3-4 hours of screen on time. I hear some people receive 5-7 hours of SOT. I've tried so many different methods, including wiping the cache partition from recovery, factory reset, disabling system apps (all Samsung bloatware) with titanium backup pro, disabling wakelocks, alarms and services using Amplify, Disable sync, location, and having low brightness. I also don't use mobile data so that's always turned off. I use Greenify to greenify many of my apps, including facebook, messenger, instagram, etc. I have also used apps such as GSAM battery monitor and Wakelock detector and better battery stats. None of these apps show out of the ordinary behaviour. The only thing left for me to do is to purchase a new battery, but before i do that I would like to see if I can fix my battery life throuh software. My current battery problem status is different from other people's as I've noticed that others have poor standby but good SOT. If someone could explain why my SOT is so low, it would be much appreciated!

Z5 returned for a defect...and for good :(

Ok, here we go. I've been a (and still am) a HUGE fan of Sony mobile products. You obviously see from my sig that I own the Z3 Compact Tablet and Smartwatch 3, both products that I simply LOVE and believe are the best among the competition. I've also owned three Xperia phones previously (ZL, Z1, Z3). The Z5, killed it for me. KILLED IT. First of all, I really wanted to believe the hype about the new camera and finally say that my Sony phone is as good as my wife's iPhone 6 camera or my friends' other Android phone cameras. Sadly, that is not the case. The sensor might be awesome and new, but unfortunately Sony still can't properly process the images. I read the reviews and watched the videos before buying mine, and I wanted so badly for them to be wrong. However, after playing with the Z5 for 5 days, I came to the conclusion that the new sensor hasn't changed anything. Pictures still come out grainy and soft and fail miserably in comparison to the competition. The new sensor is also fast, as fast as Sony claims, BUT for some reason there is a lag when you press the shutter button that leads to slightly blurred images.

I also have to admit that for some reason or another, the Z5 lost it's sexiness when compared to the Z3. I can go on and mention some of the other little things, but in all honesty, the camera and the way the phone looks did it in.

With that said, I've returned the phone as I was originally planning on doing anyway because of the light bleed issue, but I'm actually ordering the international version of the white Galaxy S6 instead. I use the phone at work daily for mobile app design testing and it is the best phone Sammy has ever released, not to mention one of the best cameras out there. I guess I was hoping that the Z5 would be just that, a S6 with Sony styling and no touchwiz, but I guess I'll settle for the S6 until Sony addresses the real issue behind their weak camera.

This is by no means intended to change anyone's opinion about the Z5, just sharing my observations and reasons. Who knows, maybe next year like now the Z6 will finally be the phone with the camera that everyone will drool over. Until then, I'll still be a loyal Sony guy with my X3C Tablet and SmartWatch 3 (fingers crossed for a SW4 soon).
