WiFi Hotspot Stopped Working Suddenly

Hello all,

I've been using my phone as WiFi hotspot a long time. Today, it just stopped working and it won't work now. Other devices can find my M9, connect to it but internet doesn't work on those devices. I've an international unlocked version M9 all stock non rooted.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanking in anticipation.

LG L34C vs Optimus Zone 2 Hotspot

I've got an L34C branded for Tracfone/Net10 running on PagePlus, and noticed that it does not ship with a wifi hotspot app. I understand that the Zone 2 is basically the same exact phone, but branded for Verizon PP service and does include a hotspot app.

Possible to cross flash a Zone 2 image onto the L34C, or maybe extract just the hotspot app and tweak a few settings to get hotspot working on the L34C?

For those of us waiting for a root option on 5.1.1, I found a great app that works as hotspot for free.

FoxFi on playstore. Has a paid version as well.

Carrier Lockdown on features (First example: Verizon Hotspot)

What carriers have somehow locked down features on your Nexus 5X?

Over here on Verizon, I've already noticed the hotspot is locked via this message (after a quick dialog that says "checking subscription").



My girlfriend and I both purchased the 5X on the same order and her T-mobile SIM carded 5X works as designed for the hotspot.

So much for a "pure Android" experience!

WiFi Hotspot Entitlement Bypass (Help Please)

My Nexus 5X arrived yesterday. I'm still waiting for a USB Type A to C cable to arrive before I can root.

I tried the Hotspot feature, and it gave me an alert that indicated a "Verizon Subscription is required."

I have an older "Unlimited Data" plan.

I have been using the Moto X (2013) Developer phone. With Root access, I was able to install a simple apk (EntitlementBypass-v1.2.apk) that activated a bypass feature.

I have also found some info on the AT&T Nexus 6 to do it this way:

Every US Nexus 6 XT1103 with an AT&T or Verizon SIM in it, regardless of where it was purchased, will check your account's subscription status before enabling tethering. This isn't unique to the AT&T model and therefore, I don't really consider it a part of making an AT&T Nexus 6 function like every other variant.

The check is hardcoded into AOSP, but you can disable it (assuming you're rooted) by adding a line to your /system/build.prop file that reads "net.tethering.noprovisioning=true" and rebooting.

The source for the APK indicated a similar function within it. I'm not sure of the best path to follow. I know enough to be dangerous.

Might anyone have some useful suggestions?
