RK3188 Cortex A9 Head Unit, Android 4.4.4 NOT Preinstalled...

Hi All,

Long time android smartphone tinkerer, newbie android head-unit tinkerer.

So i purchased the following head unit;

and basically after getting it powered up it refuses to boot anything but a powered screen (LCD illuminated). Now i've managed to get it into recovery mode with a bit of button pressing but there is no backup created and factory reset does nothing.

I don't know the MCU as i never got it into a ROM (i question whether one was installed properly) so i need some advice on where to go from here in terms of getting a bootable ROM installed, what i do know is that it has the following hardware specs;

CPU: RK3188 1.6 GHz Cortex A9
GPU: 600Mhz Mali-400 MP4 GPU
Chipset: Samsung S5PV210
Flash: 16GB
Res: 1024*600

And that it has been suggested that it's also a re-faced 'Pumpkin' unit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i'd rather get it running myself rather than endure the cost and time involved in shipping it back to China.
