WiFi tethering will only see 2.4Ghz radios and will not see 5Ghz radios.

This information maybe obvious to some but I completely overlooked this in fact support didn't even know what I was talking about when I found the solution to my connection issue.
These android car stereos only see the 2.4Ghz wireless radio frequency they will not connect to a 5Ghz radio.
My phone's default WiFi tethering setting was to use the 5Ghz radio frequency and I could not get two different units to connect. Even when the solution was staring me in the face it didn't occur to me the phone would use the 5Ghz radio frequency. I should have realized my phone's hotspot was on 5Ghz when the car stereo could only see the 2.4Ghz radio of my home WiFi and not the 5Ghz radio. If you have a newer phone or hotspot check the advanced settings for tethering.

I hope this information is useful and helps someone in the same situation as me.
