Nexus 7 keeps turning on by itself

I have the Nexus 7 2013 model. I don't know what I did wrong. I replaced the battery yesterday and now the tablet randomly turns on every few seconds. I removed the back cover and it still turns on randomly. I re-seated the film connectors and the battery connector. I also did a factory reset and that did not help.

I can put light pressure on the power switch and it won't turn on. It needs a good solid press to turn the Nexus on.
