Regarding LED and ambient display

Question 1)
Can I use both? Will ambient display show messages... Then when screen closes, the led kicks in?
Or would screen light up and led at same time

Question 2)

I use AC display... Which is sort of ambient display(never owned a moto or nexus 6).
Is ambient display basically the same thing? Meaning I won't need that

Ambient Diplay Enabler for AOSP 6.0 MRA58K (Development Build Up)

Ambient Diplay Enabler for AOSP 6.0 MRA58K (Development Build Up)

Now i will share mod to enable ambient display for android 6.0 AOSP 6.0 MRA58K by @PecanCM without any xposed module
and first of all give thanks to @raffaele88 for guide to enable it on stock nexus 4 with 5.0.2 . and i compile it to our xperia m with 6.0.

This is first build for android 6.0 after long stop from development on 5.1.1 and this development is continue now :victory:

And this is how to install this mod :
(anyone who can help me to make flashable zip for this mod, will be so appreciate on this development. cause M have different part on /system app that make updater script can work when try to install. if anyone can help me just post reply here :) )

Installation progress still on alpha stage :
1. First installation using terminal emulator
- install terminal emulator that available on google playstore https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...roidterm&hl=in
- copy framework-res.apk and systemui.apk to your external sdcard.
- open terminal emulator and grant root access
- enter this command on terminal emulator

: su
mount -o remount rw "/system"
cp "/mnt/sdcard/framework-res.apk" "/system/framework"
chmod 0644 "/system/framework/framework-res.apk"
cp "/mnt/sdcard/SystemUI.apk" "/system/priv-app/SystemUI"
chmod 0644 "/system/priv-app/SystemUI.apk"
reboot

- after that your device will reboot and let's see on settings app in display option :victory:

another installation type is using aroma file manager (this only way during instability from our Fota Recovery on android 6.0)
- download here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...46108&page=111
- turn off your phone and pull out your extsdcard from your phone and turn on to recovery mode (TWRP)
- plug your phone using cable data to computer to enable MTP mode, and copy aromafilemanager to your internal storage
- after that go to menu install and install aromafm.zip
- go to your sdcard and hold up on SystemUI.apk untill new menu is pop up
- select copy and go to /system/priv-app/SystemUI and replace (paste) that file
- hold up again on SystemUI.apk and choose set permission and set to rw-r-r
- done
- do same thing with framework-res.apk but copy to directory /system/framework
- done and exit from aroma file manager after that reboot your phone :)

And if anyone have problem with installation progress and bug with this mod just post reply and i will try to resolve it :)

Highly confused on ambient display

The menu option says that he screen will illuminate when lifting the phone or when a notification comes in. That would be fine except mine is acting more like the moto x and pulsing every few seconds which will kill an lcd battery.

Hello,

Was wondering if it possible to configure ambient display to off once I leave my home/area? If so, could someone share there profile.

Many thanks
