Note5. How to check if my bootloader is locked?

I want to encrypt my device and make sure that my bootloader is locked for verified boot. How do I check if my bootloader is locked? When I looked online it said press the power and volume down button. All that does when holding them in is constantly reboot the device. How can I check?
